That was my state of mind at that moment. It was at the house of the Baron in Hongō that I was suddenly struck by an idea that reminded me of the time I was struggling to pay for my schooling in Tokyo and was taken in so hospitably by friends. It was the story of my trying to come up with the tuition by disguising myself as a rickshaw man and then being discovered which led fatefully to my opportunity to support myself by doing the tailoring, laundry, and housework for the Baron’s family. Even after returning to my home town, when I go to Tokyo to attend the summer semester, I always stop to pay my respects at the house of the Baron.

就在那一刹那，在脑子里突然浮现出一个主意了。想起当我还在东京苦学时，特别照顾我的那位本乡的男爵。那就是，之前曾说过，由于他看穿了我女扮男装之事的缘分，就给我他家的洗衣服与裁缝的工作，又帮助我解决了学费问题。因为有大恩于我，当我返乡后，夏天有机会上东京参加讲习时，每次我都会去府上拜访问候他们。

그때였습니다. 문득 떠오른 것은 제가 도쿄에서 고학을 하고 있을 때 각별한 보살핌을 받았던 적이 있는 혼고의 남작집이였습니다.그것은 전술한 남장수레꾼을 간파당한 사건이 첫 인연의 계기가 되어 집안 세탁물부터 재봉의 준비 작업을 받고 저의 학비를 돕고 있었던 것이었습니다. 이러한 은혜가 있었으므로 저는 고향에 들어가서도 여름 강습등으로 상경하면 그때마다 문안을 드리러 찾아뵙곤 했습니다.

I thought it rather forward, but there was nothing else I could do. The first thing I did was go to Tokyo where I was met by the lady of the Baron’s house. Her husband was not home, but she asked me to tell her the reason for calling as he would be back soon. After returning and being informed of the details by his wife, the Baron immediately offered me a check for 50,000 yen and proclaimed, “I’m donating this money to Anjo Women’s Technical College Incorporated Foundation. Please submit it with the necessary documents as soon as possible.” You can’t imagine how moved I was at this moment.

我想自己也是厚颜无耻之人吧！但也顾不了那么多了。总之，先上东京去拜访再说。刚巧主人不在，夫人说，马上回来，但是不妨先把专程来访目的先详细说看看。不久，主人回邸，好不容易跟他见了面。似乎他已从夫人那边听了我的来意。突然，他就拿着五万块钱的支票给我，还说，「这笔钱就算捐献给财团法人安城女子专门学校。所以，马上与申请书一起附上，向当局提出申请！」。那时，我对他真是感激万分，那种情景，很难想象吧！

그래서 뻔뻔스럽다고는 생각했지만 뒷등을 배로 바꿀 수는 없습니다. 우선 상경하여 부인을 뵈었습니다. 남작님은 부재 중이었지만 곧 돌아오실 테니 용건을 자세히 말씀드리는 것이 좋겠다고 하셨습니다. 얼마 후 귀가하셔서 이윽고 만나보니 이미 사정은 부인에게서 들으신 것으로 보였는데 느닷없이 오만엔짜리 수표를 건네주시며 “이것은 재단법인 안죠여자전문학교에 기부하겠다. 바로 원서에 첨부하여 당국에 제출하도록.”이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그때 저의 감격이 어떠했을지 상상해 주십시오.

Upon arriving back at the school, I joyfully informed Principal Yamazaki who, staring at me wide-eyed, exclaimed, “There are other great men in Tokyo. Even though they are in the same city, why doesn’t the Ministry of Education take any action? Theirs was such a shameful decision that I think they should pause and reconsider. I will get the permit of Anjo Women’s Technical College immediately. So, let’s ask Prince Takamatsunomiya, His Highness, to visit our school to do the inspection as soon as possible.” We thereupon began to go ahead with preparations for his visit. This invitation, as well as an agricultural study tour, is what led Prince Takamatsunomiya, His Majesty, to come to Anjo in November of 1929(Shōwa 4).

回校后，把此事告诉了山崎校长，校长就瞪着圆圆的眼睛说，「不愧是，东京有伟人。同样是在东京，教育部是在办什么事。真是可悲啊。脑筋赶快醒过来吧！应该赶快把许可书发给安城女专吧！好。我也来恳求高松亲王来校视察」，他马上就办手续，于是昭和四年十一月，高松亲王来视察安城农业情况后，也顺道来校参观了。

귀교하여 이 기쁨을 야마자키 교장에게 말하자 선생님은 눈을 동그랗게 뜨고, “역시 도쿄에는 훌륭한 사람이 있구나. 그런데 같은 도쿄에 있으면서 문부성은 도대체 무엇을 하고 있는 것인가. 한심하다. 빨리 눈을 뜨고 머리 전환을 해야 한다. 그리고 한시바삐 안죠여전을 허용해야 한다.좋다, 조속히 다카마쓰노미야 전하의 내교시찰을 부탁합시다.”라고 하여, 1929년 11월 안죠의 농사시찰을 겸해 다카마쓰노미야 전하가 오시게 된 것입니다.
